RPS Technologies partner and chairman Dr Nader Mohammed Al Awadhi discusses the benefits of using technology in hotel rooms and how it can drive loyalty

When was your company established, and how long has it been in the Middle East?

Founded in 2014, RPS Technologies is a turnkey solutions provider specialising in IPTV, head-ends, digital signage and audio/visual for the hospitality industry. Based in Dubai, UAE as an LLC company, we maintain a focus in the Middle East and Africa, delivering clients a high level of post-sales service and support. RPS Technologies is the official distributor of SONIFI Solutions, which provides guest engagement solutions for hospitality while serving 500 million travellers annually.

What sets you apart from your competitors?

SONIFI Solutions are implemented in more than 1.1 million hotel rooms, approved by all major hotels hotel groups worldwide. Through the strategic partnership with SONIFI Solutions in the Middle East and Africa, RPS Technologies’ team strives to deliver superior customer value while improving the overall in-room guest experience. STAYCAST, one of our latest solutions, has been installed in 120,000 rooms within two years of its launch, and it is the preferred streaming solution for several hotel groups worldwide.

Can you share more about these products?

We implement, deliver and maintain SONIFI STAY1000 IPTV and STAYCAST in-room streaming solutions. SONIFI’s interactive experience drives engagement by delivering a customised guest experience that allows hotels to communicate and promote their brand, hotel features, amenities and services. In addition, this system delivers easy-to-use menus, an interactive programming guide, HDTV quality picture and sound, and increased revenue potential through adaption of group services, mobile app support and access into a unique window for early release movies and industry-leading suite of entertainment options.

STAYCAST is the ultimate casting experience for hospitality. Just like at home, STAYCAST, powered by Google Chromecast, enables hotel guests to stream content from 1,000+ mobile apps to the hotel room TV. STAYCAST paired with SONIFI’s interactive TV experience enables a seamless guest streaming experience, and offers benefits to both guests and the hotel.

The guest can access 1,000+ apps just like at home and stream to the big screen with no app login required through the TV. Guests can additionally connect multiple devices to the same TV and stream to any TV in the room/suite. The system also automatically disconnects the guests at checkout. Since the technology integrates either with the STAY1000LX, the hotel’s existing iTV, or free to guest system (including third-party platforms), this offers many benefits to properties. Hotels can take advantage of the advanced reporting and monitoring, the wired and wireless configurations, as well as the 24/7 guest and hotel support. The system also results in minimal installation disruptions as it only requires a Chromecast and TV in the room.
